Sherrie Ann Perkins-Turner, Music Director
Sherrie began her music education at Brescia College in Ownsboro, Kentucky. She then went on to receive her Bachelor Degree and Masters Degree in Music Education from Central State College, Wilberforce, Ohio and Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana respectively.
Mrs. Turner has made a career by teaching at Mayfield Public Schools in Mayfield, Kentucky , and Cincinnati Public Schools where she specialized in vocal and instrumental instruction.
Along with being a Music Educator, Sherrie has also acted as Talent Coordinator for "Operation Step-Up", a City of Cincinnati sponsored event. Not only is Mrs. Turner the current Music Director for St. Peter's United Church of Christ and Whole Life of Jesus Christ Church, she also served as Minister of Music at Zion Baptist Church, Cincinnati, Ohio and as Visiting Minister of Music at Olivet Baptist, Kennedy Heights. She also served as music director of Bethel A.M.E., Lockland; and St. Stephen A.M.E., Evanston.
Music is definitely the driving force in Sherrie's life. She has been the Director for the Baroque Ensemble in Cincinnati, Writer/Producer of "A Mighty Spirit" (1999) and "Man and Woman in God's America". Most recently Sherrie directed a Christmas and Easter Celebration which was a joint production with St. Peter's UCC and Whole Life Church.
Although Sherrie is now retired from her teaching career she loves to spend time with her grown children and her grandchildren. She spends most her time doing what loves -..being involved in "anything music"!
